A Word From Nina About Naturally Shear Heaven
I first started my grooming career in 1976 while still attending high school and unsure what I wanted to do with my life. I never thought that I would spend the next 30+ years grooming pets and working in the pet industry. It has been a fabulous and rewarding journey.
Through the years, I've worked in various grooming salons. I graduated from the Clipper Ship Dog Grooming School and went on to get my Certification as an Animal Hygienist. I've traveled the world attending numerous grooming seminars and international pet conventions.
In 1991 I started my Mobile Pet Grooming Service with the goal of providing a grooming environment that was more peaceful and enjoyable for pets and where I could offer personalized grooming services. I figured that if we could provide an environment where we could devote all our energies to one pet without the distractions of other barking dogs and the commotion that takes place in a grooming salon, it would be a much kinder experience for the animals. I also was looking for an opportunity to complete my educational career and I needed some flexibility in my working schedule. These two ideas came together perfectly and Naturally Shear Heaven was conceived. This was the beginning of a lovely business that has afforded us the pleasures of grooming a variety of dogs and cats while also providing an opportunity to meet many wonderful people. Additionally, I was able to pursue my educational career while enjoying a rewarding business.
By 1996 I had earned my BA degree and in 1998 I graduated with my MBA from Cal Lutheran University. I rewarded myself by purchasing land in Malibu with the future goal of building my dream horse ranch. In 2004 that dream was realized and with good fortune and many blessings, we now call Malibu our home!
Juan Reyes joined Naturally Shear Heaven in 1995 specializing in large breeds. Juan is also a graduate from the Clipper Ship Dog Grooming School and he has attended numerous educational pet grooming seminars and conventions. Juan is now offering his services full time in our newest addition of our second Sprinter grooming van.
